Waze rolls out a new feature, shows toll prices along your driving route

Navigation software app Waze on Tuesday rolled out a new feature that will show you all the tolls along your route, including the actual amount you’re going to pay, across both the U.S. and Canada. The new feature won’t just make it easier for you to go out, it will also make it more transparent.

Waze will source the information from its community of user-drivers, rather than direct from the official toll road operators — but Waze’s crowd-sourced navigation data often have a leg up on the official source in other cases.

The app will show you the toll prices upfront before the navigation actually gets underway, which is great, because that’s when you actually have the opportunity to do something about it, whether it’s scrounging seat-cushion change or just choosing to drive a different way.
