SmartyStreets recently announced the release of their U.S. Rooftop Geocoding and U.S. Reverse Geocoding API. These new products are expected to provide customers with the highest precision geocodes available in the market today.

The new product is a cloud-based API which is significantly faster than most on-site solutions. The cloud license allows SmartyStreets to scale up computing power supported on server load.

As a result, the SmartyStreets API can successfully and accurately process hundreds of millions of records per hour, all while eliminating the expense and time associated with configuring and maintaining local software and hardware.

Berk Charlton, Director of Geolocation Intelligence at SmartyStreets mentioned in the press release that the SmartyStreets U.S. Rooftop Geocoder represents a new generation of geocoding accuracy.

They are talking about true rooftop geocodes. He added that customers will see huge improvements in accuracy compared to less sophisticated services.

Their cloud solution has an almost unlimited capacity for speed. Older technologies will struggle under this kind of load, but with SmartyStreets’ new reverse geocoder, that will not be a problem anymore.
