Participant registration for Space Apps 2020 (October 2-4) is now open! Now in its 9th year, Space Apps is an international hackathon for coders, scientists, designers, storytellers, makers, builders, technologists, and others in cities around the world, where teams engage with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s free and open data to address real-world problems on Earth and in space.

Space Apps is a NASA-led initiative organized in collaboration with Booz Allen HamiltonMindgrubSecondMuse, and the NASA Open Innovation Applied Sciences Program. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and in the interest of our global community’s health and safety, NASA and the Space Apps Global Organizing Team have made the decision to make the 2020 hackathon an all-virtual event.

Each local virtual event will be hosted by one of the Space Apps Local Leads — event leaders who will help connect registrants from their local communities to each other and to NASA. All participants will be invited to attend a global opening ceremony on October 2, which will be streamed on YouTube.
