With doctors and patients trying to reduce in-person visits as much as possible due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the spotlight is currently on the virtual care options. The search engine giant Google is all set to introduce new features in search and maps that will showcase telehealth options.

Once this new process is launched, doctors, health-related professionals, and hospitals will be able to add their virtual care offerings in their business profiles. When patients search for doctors, they will come across a link, saying “get online care.” This will take them to the provider's websites and help them get more information.

The company will also show showing virtual care platforms in the US when people will use queries like “immediate care.” The search result will show both in-person and virtual care. Apart from this, the company will also incorporate a link to the health professional’s COVID-19 page. This will help them to update their policies for walk-in visits or updates to their operating hours
